Do they have one that improves mpg w/o sacrificing performance?

Does it void your warranty?

I seem to recall that the Sprinter owner's manual says that all ECU mods void the warranty. If I get one, I'll just wait until the warranty expires.

Does not the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act require the OEM to prove that that an aftermarket modification was the actual cause of a malfunction before using as the reason to void a warranty?

15 USC 2302 - Rules governing contents of warranties | LII / Legal Information Institute

(not that I think that "chipping" a Sprinter is a good idea).

I believe you're right, but when an authorized Mercedes Sprinter service department plugs in their diagnostic comuter, they can tell that the programs have been changed from the factory-original, whether it caused a malfuction or not, and they're likely to get bitchy about it. And to reset it back to factory-original whether you like it or not.

Or if they do a software update, I suspect it overwrites the entire program, not just the updated sections. Poof, there goes your $1K+ program.

Personally I'm satisfied w/ the power but could use a mpg improvement. So far the only way I can do that is by not driving so fast.

I believe Renntech will reprogram if the software is overwritten at no charge.

I'd have to check with the guy who did exhaust system. I just know he showed it to me and I immediately fell in love with it.

I did look on and around it but no markings.

Next time u speak to him I'll ask.

I will tell you that after removing the muffler and just doing the cat back system he did, there's hardly a change in sound and it actually has a very nice 'throatier' sound to it.

We just did a short 500 mile jaunt and while towing the double axle 12' trailer I pull behind it at a steady 65 mph we were still getting 16 mpg.

I look forward to running without trailer to see if I can break the 20 mpg mark.

I love that. How much and who made it?

I purchased my interstate with a rhode gear carrier. Very useful but not as good looking as yours.

Also just did the Renntech ECU tuning.

Big difference on highway. Amazing acceleration, all things considered.
