This guy's a linguistic contortionist. He takes irreverent sarcasm to a new level. I loved it. :-)

Thanks for the link.

Eastern South Dakota is very pretty with hills, rivers, and trees.

Gee, I wonder if Airstream will take any notice of what was written. We would like to see Airstream "ditch" the electric sofa for a "manual" one so the space taken up by the drive motors and shaft would allow you to store bedding or other large items under the couch. As it stands, there is NO place to store large items like a quilt or pillows, and we have mentioned it to Airstream. Some will say store things in the bathroom, but we use the bathroom for what it is for. Not storeage.
Why not allow for incorporation of a diesel fired generator instead of Propane. The Sprinter has a 26 gallon diesel tank after all.

That was an awesome article - great writer. While we don't own an Interstate, he could have been writing about any AS product. Documentation? Laughable. Fit and finish? Fougettaboutit.

I'm still a loyal AS owner, but some times you have to just shake your head - what are those guys in Jackson Center thinking?

Vintage rebuild

That is one of the reasons we chose to rebuild a 1968 Ambassador.....we wanted an Airstream but were not impressed that they are so well built....., I wanted Vintage and my husband wanted a new one....so we asked Uwe to find an older unit with a nice body and redo the inside.....voila, we have a very well built up to date (2009 inside) Airstream with disc brakes, ample tanks, surround sound, corks floors, auto stablizers, green no off gasing materials and a beautiful trailer to boot in a 1968 skin.....the door, windows and skin are original (well mostly except the tail lights minus the back trunk). We are so happy with the work Uwe did. paula

If you enjoyed this article and are a car nut then check out Dan Neil's show Ticket To Ride on The Speed Channel. Same wit and wisdom with super car eye candy video to boot.

I agree. Dan Neil nailed the test in record time. It would be nice to see the same level of objectivity in other reviews of Airstreams rather than the piuff pieces we normally read.
