Interesting Rear Storage

Hey guys, look what they have in Europe. I've never saw it in the States. Any idea how good it may be, and if anyone saw it on sale in the US ?

Hope the left hand door hinges are Strong Strong Strong. Lots of weight cantilevered on them when the unit is open. I am not a fan of the weight cantilevered on a hitch-mounted carrier and even less so on this thing.

I've seen those but not any pics of what the inside of the compartment(s) look like. I wouldn't have it, myself. I'm not sure what they are intended to carry.

Front passenger door. It opens like a bus door (compare the OP's first and second pictures). Indicating that the van is a mini-bus, possibly an airport shuttle, and the add-on rear compartment is for luggage storage in order to make room for more seats inside.

Here's another airport shuttle Sprinter with the same type of door:


And here's one with standard doors, but a rear luggage pod:
