Lol protagonist ))

I've never tried that power booster bank. But I'm not sure what you are talking about... If you mean not starting but just activating accessories, yes the battery circle needs at list a little power.

Once my Mercedes G-wagen was staying in the garage for a long time with activated TeleAid, and its battery completely died. When I incerted the key to ignition, I was NOT able to turn the key even in the first position, also I was NOT able to remove the key from ignition. Once I connected the jump cables from other car battery, a small amount of power applied to the system circle, and I turned the key to position one and everything was activated in the car, so the key chip needs just a little power to be activated.

A point that a lot fail to realize is that the jumper car or portable battery pack doesn't actually start the dead car, it merely recharges the battery in the dead car allowing it to start the vehicle. That's why you don't need jumper cables that resemble welding cables because they aren't passing the several hundred amps required to start a car. Plus most jumper cables' clamps don't make adequate contact to pass the current anyway.

Marc, it seems that the Power Box is not charging battery but gives an immediate high-amperage boost to turn the starter.

The cables in the picture look pretty small to carry several hundred amps.

Good way to check is to disconnect your + cable on the battery, hook up the Power Box and see if you can start the vehicle.

It is designed to start the engine by cranking a starter

400 AMP pick power is good enough to our diesel.

If it's of any help, Mr Bean, I received an email from Parts.com and out of curiosity looked at all the components that make up the hood:
https://www.parts.com/index.cfm?fuse...iagram=5911155
And if you break the Air Vent trying to remove it, it's only $18 to replace it.
