Hitch Cargo Boxes

Sorry to belabor the point re cargo boxes, but I was almost sold on the Stowaway2 box until I saw a previous thread about the Gearspace 34. Those look to be far superior as far as ability to carry a lot more stuff. However, I then wondered about whether any of these hitch mounted carriers block the view of the rear camera? I know some of you have used the Hitch mounted carriers so please weigh in on how they affected the visibility of the rear camera. Thanks so much.

I very much doubt it. The rear-view camera on an Interstate has a fisheye lens to give a wide-angle view. It's also mounted above the rear doors, up by the middle brake light. The box should be visible at the bottom of the camera monitor, but not significantly block the view.

I found that very handy when using a hitch-mount bike rack; I could check that the bikes were still secure at a glance, just by looking at the monitor.

Perhaps you might consider this type of cargo set-up.

Thank you. I store my AI off-site so I could not check it myself. I was thinking the camera was down near bumper. Good news!

Thanks Peggy. I've seen these but I'm leaning toward the Gearspace because it is bigger and I can still get the clearance to open the rear doors.

That's my choice. Made by Rola. Well pleased with it
