Gray Water Valve

My first BIG problem!!!!!
I dumped my gray water tank and it is stuck in the open position and the red light on the valve switch stays on.
I tried to find the manual overide to close the valve but I can't find it.

HELP!!!!!!!!

Does it "try" to close when you push on the switch? i.e. do you hear any sound of the mechanism trying to close the valve? If not, maybe you have a blown fuse?

In my Interstate manual, the manual override feature for the dump valves is shown on page G-16.

My 2012 manual has the same info, so it apparently hasn't changed. Fair warning, you'll have to crawl up under the Interstate to do the manual override. You'll want to drive the front end up onto leveling blocks to get more clearance underneath. That's safer than using a jack.

Side note, thanks to the macerator pump and the ball valve on the end of the discharge hose, it does no particular harm for the valve to be stuck upen for a while, as long as you don't add anything to the gray tank until it's fixed. Just a small drain on your house batteries for that LED light on the switch, which should go out when you turn off the battery disconnect. It would be much more worrisome if you discharged through a slinky.

Well the gray water valve now works!
I had to have the valve motor replaced at 400 dollars.

I just replaced the black tank valve which failed last fall so I opened it manually. It's actually an easy replacement taking only about 1/2 hour. The exact replacement part is $85+ shipping direct from drainmaster. Products | Drain Master

Should it have been covered by the warranty?

I bought my 2012 used. But I did purchase an extended care program. My total cost was the 50 dollar deductible.

I bought mine used and the 3/36 warranty is still good for me.

Checked into an extended warranty and all I could find was for about $3,500 to $6,000. Too steep for me. What did yours cost?
