Generator not starting

Folks, I am trying to assist a friend via long distance who is taking her first trip in her 2014 Interstate. She had a breakdown, and had the vehicle towed and is back on the road. But now the generator won't start. The last time it worked was before the towing took place. I've had her check the outside and interior propane switches and to test to make sure the stove burners light. Both switches are on and the burners do light. Do any of you have any suggestions for what else to check? Is there a physical lp valve to the genny that the tow truck driver may have shut off? The generator will "turn over" but will not start. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I always turn the engine on to give the gen start switch some extra power.

Might try that....

Several threads on this subject in this forum. Most common is low oil level (maybe incline during tow process tripped oil level switch?). Odd things like rubber vent tube plugged by mud dauber (happened to me) are possible. I would run the stove burner for several minutes and then try again. It might take multiple cranks of 5-10 seconds. (With some time in between to let the starter cool. As previous post says, keep engine on while cranking.

T1N-era generators have a fuse right on the generator itself (not sure about NCV3s). I know of one owner who reports it blowing religiously and predictably at the most inconvenient times. It requires crawling under the chassis to replace it.

I don't know whether or not a generator would continue to crank if that fuse were blown, however. It's been a while since this was discussed and I can't remember the exact circumstances.
