Fusion alert chimes, how to turn off?

I have the Fusion Infotainment system in my 2017 AS Interstate. It has a feature that warns of weight limits for roads with a chime and a notice on screen. It tells me the weight limit for every city street I cross (7000lb) and that I weigh more than the limit. How can I turn this off? At least can I turn the audible part off? The unit will not let me change the vehicle profile. Thanks.

I assume you have the Fusion RV-IN801 unit. The manual says Airstream should have set the proper profile for your Interstate, but I doubt they do it. That 7000 lb weight setting might also be routing you on less than optimal routes.

Have you tried adding or editing the Vehicle Profiles as outlined in the user manual? Page attached.

I didn't see any clues on turning off the chime warnings in the manual.

Thanks for the advice Mike. That is the unit i have. The vehicle profile is entered and correctly as 11,000 lbs. I have tried to edit the profile but the unit will not allow it for some reason. Any other ideas?

MOBEY - I am out of town awhile, so wont be able to confirm. But IIRC the profile installed from manufacturer is not editable unless you go through a total "factory reset" process. Pretty sure I tried editing it when I first took delivery and could not. I do not want to "factory reset" mine since it is working as best as can be expected. Also, since it is correctly set at 11,000 lbs. why the need to edit? And if you really want to have an editable profile, just add a a new profile and use that instead. Accomplishes same thing without destroying the factory profile

As Alex mentioned best to create a new profile and see if that helps. You said it is set to 11,000 lbs. so if you are driving on streets only rated for 5 tons, which is very common, then the alarm will sound.

I have not been able to turn them off for when going into places where it does not know if it is okay for the RV to go into... always get that chime that interrupts the music playing, and also shows the message in the navigation screen...

Do not recall hearing one due to weight limitations in the route... but then again, if it shows a message somewhere, I most likely have missed it all this time...

Subscribed in case we do find a way to quiet that down...

WACHUKO, MOBEY - Pretty sure you can not turn off the CHIME or Visual Warning. The whole point of using navi is to have both. Kinda like Lane Assist, if you hate the constant beeping (which I do), turn off Lane Assist (which I also do). In this scenario, turn off navigation, problem solved.

MOBEY - Update & Correction - my Fusion has 2 profiles named Manufacturer & ALEX AVI.

The profile named Manufacturer has it's Audible Alerts Disabled. I now recall and am pretty sure that happened on my very last update when it prompted me for those settings.

But I use my own personal profile named ALEX AVI. By using that, I can pick & choose what audible alerts I want Disabled or Enabled.

If you want to change the Manufacturer profile settings, it looks like you can do it, but need to go through the updates. Probably best to start from Factory Defaults to make sure it updates from a known stable rev. Good luck.
