Front TV

Tired of banging my head

Thinking about removing then replacing smoked colored plastic sliders with something fun like orange or sky blue then illuminating from behind.

I think it would create more of a fool Airstream vibe.

Any thoughts?

Do you use the front TV much?

Thanks.

You must have the newer AI w/ the bigger TV since mine doesn't come below the front ceiling. And yes it gets used a lot, especially when the grandkids are aboard.

Front TV

I also use my front TV a lot after adding a fold down mounting so I don't have to look up so far when seated in the second row seats.

Hey Mike, where did you get your fold down mount? Monoprice?

Have any pics?

Thanks

I'll post a picture later. Don't have it on this iPhone and have limited WiFi here in Canada.

Mounts & More, Monoprice, & MCM are good places to find TV mounts.

I'm 6'4". The front TV was removed in week 2 of ownership.

What do you do w/ the cross beam that was below it or did you have a bigger than 19" TV? I've hit my head on that but never the TV since it is about 1/2" above it.

RoadJager...what did you do about the holes that remained after the TV was removed?

Hi Mike, I'd really like some details on your fold-down tv mount. Sounds like a great solution.

Thanks,
Bill

Yes, RoadJager, I'd like to know too. We removed our TV to allow better access to the storage units, and to avoid banging heads on it (we never used the tv). And now we just have the wires all bundled and clipped up. Have never gotten around to doing anything about that, but would like to cover them or something.

I just pushed them back up into the holes, but left them slightly visible so the flat screen could be reinstalled and not have to deal with cut and hard to retrieve wires. Sure the holes are not pretty but the lumps on my head were not either.
When I get more spare time for dealing with this, I will 'dress' it out. I am trying to get spare time to just get back on the road.

Here are couple of photos of my front TV mount. I don't recall where I bought the mount but I can find those details when I return home in August. It got a little complicated to make it work as I had to add some locking pins to hold it in place when folded up. I think you could probably use a mount like the rear TV, by using it vertically. I did have to pull a new longer wire for the coax to the antenna box. The other wires had enough slack to handle the fold down position.
