Fresh Water Tank Loose
Decided to flush my fresh water tank today and when removing the drain plug discovered the tank is loose.
I see some perimeter nuts that look like they are attached to some all thread so am guessing these need to be tightened.
Anybody know for sure / have tightened their tank?

I just snugged up the 6 bolts holding the fresh water tank in a sort of cradle. Don't over tighten as there isn't a limit on how much you could tighten, would just end up squeezing and potentially reshaping your tank.

Could the loosening be a result of towing or putting it on the flatbed ? If so, you might check other items under that low slung chassis. Hope you find no problems and thanks for the heads-up.

Vibration causes bolts to loosen.
Check all those things that can cause those vibrations.
The running gear, must be balanced, to start with.

I think stuff just vibrates loose as it can on any vehicle.
I just wish I had a big enough lift or a big hole in the ground so That I could check things out more often.

How about using a nut with a nylon locking feature.
Could that eliminate a recurring problem and ease your mind.

Nylon nuts are certainly very useful.
But, when vibration is the cause of the issue, then attention should be directed to it's "fix".
If not, then many other things can and will happen, that sometimes cause "big bucks" to correct.

That's not a bad idea or I could just double nut them since they will probably jiggle loose again.

Double nuts will lock, but will not he as strong as a Nylock nut in stainless steel...and double nuts are a pain when they rust and then need to be taken off in the future. It takes two wrenches to get them off, plus a set of locking pliers to hold the all thread. Don't ask how I know this 😀

You could also use something like Loctite thread locking fluid. The blue is temp/removable. The red is more permanent. I use it all the time. Also noticed that all those nuts holding tanks and other things under my van are nylon-nuts.

Those need balancing as well.
Some folks think that heavy duty vehicles are immune to balancing.
