Looks like the mattresses would be comfortable although all the extra pieces and parts would be a total PITA.

Like my lounge model but see how the twin could be useful if you weren't all that cozy with
the other occupant.

You would lose some storage with that big rear overhead locker being gone to make the rear doors accessible without ducking your head. Given how there's not enough storage in any model, for me that would be a deal-breaker. It's one reason I didn't buy a twin back in December 2011 when I bought my Interstate.

Twins are definitely popular. The rear overhead locker is still there as seen in video. Not sure it is as large as the one in my EXT Lounge the is about 3 feet deep.

I just converter my EXT Lounge to a semi-twin bed arrangement. We were getting tired of having to crawl out of the end of the lounge bed. Now it is a pair of twins at the feet and a full width king at the head of bed. Basically a u-shaped bed.

I'll post some pictures later.

Isn't that what it already is if you don't fold the 2 side facing seats down?

Well - not quite because you would only have about an 18 inch wide twin at your feet. I eliminated the two side facing seats frames and just using the lower part of seat on hinges I made. This gives us a 26 inch twin at our feet. The seat under the curbside cabinet was useless except to form part of the bed. I eliminated the roadside seat belt so now we can only carry seven in belts. Never did like the thought of someone using that side facing seat anyway. I'll post some photos tomorrow when I plan to finish the modification.

Boxster1971...Can't wait to see your pics. We've struggled with what to do as well, in order to avoid having to climb in and out of bed. To check tanks and batteries, you have to climb on the bed too.

Here are some photos of my twin bed mod. We use a memory foam topper on our bed as shown in first photo. Click image for larger version

I trimmed the end of the foam topper to 26 inches at bottom to form the U shape. The top spans the full 69 inches of the Sprinter interior walls We will now use RV Super Bags for our bedding. There is about 15 inches of space between the twin sections. During the day we roll up the toppers as shown in second photo. Click image for larger version

ID:	238965I've added photos of the hinge mechanism I made from aluminum angle stock I had in my shop. I also added a few pieces of black aluminum diamond plate to cover the gaps along wall of the side seat bottoms. To fill the gaps on the side I'll just stuff in an extra pillow. Fabulous modification------ There is more sleeping room than the V-berth in my sailboat,
because there is no bow. GREAT use of space for us bipeds.

Very well done video. Does anyone know what was under the street side seat over the rear duals that look like a computer monitor screen?

The Power Control System and fuse box are under the street side jump seat. Under the passenger side jump seat is a sub-woofer.

I see a new backup camera and screen doors for the XL model. Both are things I wanted!!! Looks like the control panel is no longer in the upper cabinet... Didn't see where they put it though. Nice upgrades; I approve

It's in the overhead streetside locker behind the driver. Much more handy compared to all the way in the back.

Finally did away with the pleated day/night shades. Got to call Colonial to ask if they can give me the mfg. I'd be interested in a manual shade version.

Not really a fan of the fold up TV. When I clear the cab, I want to stand up.

Ron, we completely removed our front TV. Kept banging our heads on it when we stood up from the cab, and, we never used it, and, it significantly blocks access to the overhead sliding door compartment. Than big new fold up TV would be gone in a heartbeat too!

Anyone know how much headroom is lost when it's in the folded up position?

It does open up full access to the overhead compartment.

Look for the paper clip next to the smiley face in the Message menu bar. Clicking it creates a popup menu called "manage attachments" in which image files can be chosen. It is a bit counterintuitive. There may also be other ways.
