I have the IL E-Z pass and from what I can tell IL only charges based on number of axles. Prior to going out east last year I checked PA and other turnpike websites. One or more did appear to have a surcharge for over-height. I decided to just use the IL E-Z pass and see what happened. We incurred about $100 in tolls through PA, NY, NJ but (far as I know) these were just the normal charges. I did not get a ticket or other nasty-gram in the mail. Earlier this year I used the E-Z pass in KS and OK, figuring I would plead ignorance if stopped. Haven't been stopped yet. It would be nice if all states did reciprocal recognition.
Georgia now has “Peach Pass” and has added more toll lanes in the Atlanta area, and one more due to open by the end of summer. But beware, trailers of any type are not allowed on GA toll lanes.
Georgia is reciprocal with Florida, so my trailer tag is listed on my Georgia account and works in Florida.

Hi Peter. Yes it might remove the Hiccups if I had an RV Ez-pass but for the few times it happens it's not worth the bother to me since it happens so seldom. As a side note all should remember that the PA Turnpike weights all vehicles at the toll plazas and will adjust the toll for the weight class recorded. I think their class I goes up to about 7100#. Over this we enter class II. Now, class II in PA includes up to 4 axels so I pay the same whether I have my trailer or not. This is the only place I've encountered this since most just count axels and charge accordingly.
