External speakers for Sony flat screen TVs

I have a 2014 Interstate Ext and the 2 Sony flat screen TVs are not wired into sound system. You can't hear TVs when A/C is running. I want to purchase a couple of small external speakers-maybe some that would clip on top or side of the TV for better sound.
Any suggestions?
Will I need a small amp or pre-amp?
Thanx

You might look at a sound bar...

These sound really good, but they aren't cheap. These Bose speakers are smaller than a Rubik's cube, but will rival the sound of a small home theater system (without the rear surround sound speakers). The stands are removable; and, with a little imagination, can be attached to (or mounted near) your flat panel TV. It's not immediately obvious, but this system includes a subwoofer.

Notes:

1. You may also need a small inverter (if your Interstate is not so equipped), because these need 100 watts (max) of 110-volt AC power.

2. I have no affiliation with Costco, other than being a satisfied customer.

I use this one, "Syba CL-SPK20150 17-Inch USB Powered Sound Bar Speaker, Dark Walnut Style". Available from Amazon. Inexpensive and surprisingly good sound.

These work for me. They plug into the earphone jack on the tv and into a 120v outlet.

My team got me a Jambox last year for Christmas and it is fantastic! You could connect it via your headphone out with a cable and you can move it anywhere to play your iPod or other music device by Bluetooth. Works great, small space, much bigger sound than you'd expect. We love ours!

SOUNDS INTERESTING- I LOVE COSTCO BECAUSE YOU CAN RETURN A PRODUCT WITHOUT ANY HASSLE. I appreciate your suggestion. Thanks.

I plugged a 3.5mm splitter into the front tv and ran a cable to the stereo av input. With my stereo you can run the tv just to the back speakers or all speakers. Works really well.
