External LP Tank???

This may have been asked before but I could not find it via Search tool. Is it possible to connect an external LP tank to my Interstate to gain extra capacity when camping without electricity? I burned about 5 lbs with just generator and heat running on overnight 7 hours at 19 degrees outside temp. nothing else on or used in coach.

No. You can't connect a portable tank to draw from both. There IS a way to refill the built-in tank from a portable tank, but I will not share the instructions because you'll be breaking state law (in most states) if you try it, since you're not licensed to refill propane tanks. Neither am I, by the way.

If propane use is the limiting factor, I would suggest getting a Honda or Yamaha 2kW portable generator, and hooking it up to your shore power connection. Run the portable generator to make electricity, and run the furnace to make heat.

And best of all, since you won't be sleeping right on top of a running generator, it will be a whole lot quieter, too.
