If I did that I would probably go with a charger/inverter so we can have the tv on when dry camping. I don't know if there's room for many solar panels, i looked and there's a lot of stuff on the roof taking up space. It would be nice though to have solar to charge the batteries during the day when there's no shore power.

Both my original TV and the new one I replaced it with were 12 volt
TV's. I made a 12 volt
power adapter that lets me plug the tv to the 12 volt
cigarette adapter at the current tv location. Cost me about $12 in parts from radio shack. The only item in the van I would consider using the inverter for is the microwave. Everything else is either too big (AC unit) or is already 12 volt and you usually don't want to convert a 12v
item to use a 120 volt power adapter like the tv if its already naively 12 volts. Lots of wasted energy in the form of heat.
