Electrical problem

I have a weird problem. 30amp breaker on the pole in the Rock Cut State Park drips only if i have the 20amp breaker on.
If I leave it off power stays on.
I tested with other poles same issue.
If I run the generator everything runs fine. Everything works fine with the 20amp breaker for the inverter off.
Now my batteries are not charged unless I run the generator.
I have a 2013 AS-I with a magnum converter/charger. Anybody has any ideas?
Thanks

Do u mean the 20 amp breaker on the power pole? I will tell u that in 30 years I have had four power problems and all were in state parks! One caused the trailer skin to be electrically hot. Also, always check your phases with the little plug in three light tool.

I checked the pole it seams OK used a different pole and had the same problem. A neighbor with his AS trailer had a similar problem but it just went away. Of course it is raining and the cable are in water but this should not make a difference.
Everything 110V works as long as have the breaker for the inverter off.

The 20 as well the 30amp on the pole do the same. Changed poles did not make a difference.
If I leave the breaker in the Interstate off for the inverter anything else 110V works fine.

Which inverter do you have?

You don't want to plug a live GFCI circuit into a live GFCI circuit. First one usually blows. By '20 A breaker' do you mean a GFCI breaker in the AI? Power pole probably has a GFCI breaker in it too. Try turning off the GFCI breaker in the AI then plug into the power pole then turn AI GFCI breaker back on. Can usually trick things into working this way.

You say you've tried hooking up to different utility service connections, but have they all been at the same park?

Until you check at a different park, and not just a different pole at the same park, you can't know if the problem is on your end or the park's end.

The fact that everything works fine when you're on generator power leads me to believe the problem could be with the park's electrical service, not your Interstate.

Came home hocked it up and everything is OK.
So I guess something is wrong with the parks power supply.
Thanks for all your help.

This is normal behavior since once you start the generator the transfer switch cuts off the external power from the pole. It's a safety requirement so you can't put current on the external power lines. Home generator back-up systems are wired the same way with a transfer switch.

My understanding was that generator power was priority 1 if it is on it cut any other power off.
The pole breaker would trip without the generator running. Everything powered fine as long as I took the inverter breaker off.
Now in my garage everything again works fine. Must have been a problem in the park.

If you don't have one, I would suggest you acquire one of these:

Amazon.com: Progressive Industries PT30C 30 Amp Portable Electrical Management System: Automotive

It will tell you if the park has wire issues before you connect. It's saved me a few times with bad grounds and mis-wired connections as well as over and under-voltage conditions. You'd be surprise just how bad the power is in many places.

I have on a build in model and it did not had a fault.
As I said everything 110v worked fine and poke breaker stayed on when I keep the Interstate breaker for the inverter off.
It was weird and did not make any sense and again now in my garage it works fine again.
