"Voyager 2". Replaced Voyager (gone, but not forgotten 2013 Interstate). V2 is a 2015 Grand Tour. Diggin' it. d.

All our friends know that when we talk about going somewhere with Walter, we mean our Interstate. Since the chassis is Mercedes, we named him after our long-time Austrian friend. So of course when we acquired our toad (a Jeep), we named her after Walter's wife, Sieglinde.

I had initially named our Interstate "Graceland" because we bought it at a location 1.5 miles from Graceland.

However, as I continue my urban RVing adventures, I am contemplating a name change to "Ticket Bait".

With an unconventional vehicle this large and this conspicuous, I am finding that the authorities will seize any opportunity to ticket it.

As illustration, I am attaching a distilled and annotated version of Houston's large vehicle ordinance. Even we owners of the smaller T1N Interstates are pooched on this one because, although we don't exceed the length limitation, we do exceed the height by one entire foot.

This ordinance is so harsh that if you even pull to the curb momentarily to read a map or answer your phone, City of Houston has the legal right to ticket you. Bear this in mind if you ever visit friends or family in Houston - you MUST park your Interstate in their driveway. You cannot legally park in front of their house even briefly. You WILL get nailed (I did not, but I did get a severe tongue-lashing from HPD for pulling over just to read something... apparently they'd prefer me to read directions at 30 mph instead).

FWIW. I don't know how many other cities have similar ordinances.

We call ours "Vader" after Darth Vader. "I want the plans to the Death Star and I want them now!" The 1965 Caravel we tow behind it is "R2D2" or just R2...beep..beep...squawk!!!
