Cracked windshield

Picked up our 2107 AI from storage and found a good size crack in the windshield. Luckily Florida insurance covers full replacement at no cost, which is the good news. The bad news is that there are no windshields for replacement. MB keeps promising delivery dates and then breaking promises. This has been going on for a month! Once we replace the windshield MB has to calibrate the built in sensors.
We have a trip planned to Arizona, Nevada and Utah next week and may have to leave with a cracked windshield. Everyone says this is no big deal but it is not ideal.
Anyone else have any issues with windshield replacement?

I carry RainX Windshield repair kits with me. I've had three bis rock strikes over 3 years and have been able to repair them at my destination. It at leasts keeps them from spreading. The repair kits do a reasonable job of hiding the damage as well.
