Counter Top extension

I have the 2016 Grand Tour with the flip up counter top extension. My rant is when you move the jump seat down to make the king-size bed it rubs the side of the seat on the edge of the folded down counter top. It has rubbed a hole in the side of the seat cushsion. The seat is a struggle just to let it down much less with counter top in the up position as the dealer says it should be. My question is has anyone else had a problem with this ? I have removed the extension because we never used it anyway but the hole in the seat remains.

We have not had an issue. There are 4 bolts hold the seat frame down. They are marginally adjustable.

Thanks for the reply,
I saw the bolts going through. I guess a 1/4" over and it wouldn't have been a problem but the damage is done.

I believe you are supposed to raise the counter extension before jack-knifing the seat into the bed position. I know mine doesn't come close to clearing when in the down position.

Agreed. We were explicitly told to deploy the extension in our 2016 when adjusting the seat up/down.

I removed ours as we were not using it, it was in the way and it rattled. Haven't missed it at all.

I must have missed it or didn't remember from the 1 1/2 - 2 hour briefing.
The soap dispenser was another thing that has been removed. There is a lot to become familiar with and it gets easier every trip.
