Not so goofball if you've been anywhere they've been used and seen the results...

Claymore

Bob,
Lighten up a bit ! Your stressing will get you before a claymore does ! Maybe a background check is in order before purchasing one ? Or maybe "Big Brother" should outlaw the "Yosemity Sam" hitch cover. That cover has a guy holding two pistols and saying "back Off".
Common sense, free speech, sense of humor ? I am sure glad that we have people to determine what is best for us !!
Your wonderful and humble law abiding citizen,
Chip

I'm sure Bob can defend himself quite ably, but just want to say that I believe he is a combat veteran.

I could be wrong, but like anything else, it's all about perspective.

Don't get your knickers in a twist. The states that forbid the claymore look-alike hitch cover also have heartburn with toy pistols that look too real. I don't agree with the legislation outlawing lookalikes as if they were real weapons, but at the same time I wouldn't want to be killed by an armed and irate motorist who thought it was real, either. Wasn't all that long ago that Florida became known as the Gunshine State due to reports of road rage that made headlines.

Yosemite Sam doesn't look like a weapon, and even the pistols he's holding don't look real. It's not the same thing at all.

twisted knickers

Protagonist,
My knickers are just fine, thank you for your concern anyway. Now as to those who would not want to be killed by an armed and irate motorist who thought the claymore was real, in that case it would be in their best interest not to put it on their tow vehicle,---problem solved. A simple thing used to solve a problem, a good individual choice.

As for yosimite sam, your observation is correct, it does look like a comic cover, however it might alert one to the mind set of the operator of the vehicle. So again for those who might not want to be killed by irate motorists maybe a camoflage cover would be safe because it would not be seen! heh,heh !

Please note the very clever modification of the license plate portion of the picture in earlier post #5, courtesy of moderator Aage.

Thank you, Aage.

Anything beats the wretched bulls testicles! For some reason the green ones bother me most.

Oh and in Virginia a lot of boaters have ones that look like boat propellers and turn in the wind.
