Ceiling material

I'm assuming the ceiling material on my 2014 AI is aluminum. Does anyone know for sure what the ceiling material is?

Yep, it's aluminum. Your manual should have cleaning instructions for it.

I suspect it's anodized. You can check with ohmmeter anodized is usually non-conductive.

Clear-coated aluminum, exactly the same stuff used on the outside of the trailers. That and the door panel on the fridge are the only aluminum to speak of in the Interstate, and the only direct link to the alumafetish that affects (infects?) the trailer owners.

Because it's clear-coated, don't treat it as if it's aluminum for the purpose of cleaning; treat it as if it's plastic so that you don't damage the clear coat. In other words, don't use a metal cleaner because only the rivets are actually exposed metal.

I haven't needed to clean the ceiling, but I used lemon Pledge on the fridge door and it worked pretty well. Smelled nice, too.

Do you know if the coating is anodize or more like an automotive clear coat?

Couldn't say. One of the late-model Airstream trailer owners may know, since it's the same stuff as the outside of their trailers.

Thanks for the responses! Being clear coated makes sense, that's what was throwing me because it doesn't feel like a bare metal.
