Burning Smell After Service Bulletin 164

I recently had SB164 done at my dealer, and now I notice a strong burning smell when the batteries are on bulk charge in my driveway on shore power after being discharged. It's happened a few times, and does not seem to be going away as it would if it was just some sort of temporary "burn-in" smell. Once the batteries are charged to the float stage, it goes away. Airstream says not to be concerned, so that makes me even more concerned. Has anyone else had this experience?
