Boys, allow me to say, "Hey. How y'all".

Just came on board. Wanting an Interstate, or some class b. Been reckoning Airstream is about the best, but, alas, I've already read some build quality issues, and AC not cooling. In my area, gotta have cold air.

Anyway boys, glad to be on board.

Howdy, Gene! We're new to the AS Interstate Grand Tour and love it beyond our expectations...and no build problems so far. It's a great fit for my wife and I and two small dogs. I know you will enjoy this Forum, as we have.

Thanks boys. I've got to find some dealers so I can look. I'm kind of in boondocks here, so long way to a dealer I think. I'm checking out that RV trader site lately, craigslist, eBay, etc., you name it, I've been there for class b. Online, that is.

Welcome! I have a 2014.5 Interstate that I love. I've had no real build issues, but did upgrade the suspension and added a screen door on the back. Looking to change to the Grand Tour potentially as I'm hoping to take it on longer camping trips and don't need the extra seats.

Yeah, we don't need many seats either. Just Ethyl, me, and our hound.

Sounds like the Grand Tour is for you in the Airstream lineup.

Greetings, and welcome!

Foley RV in Gulfport is a very well-respected dealer, and should be able to show you models and answer any questions you have.

Are you only talking to the boys, or do you want input from the ladies as well?

Welcome aboard.

Welcome. We are very pleased with our 2013 AI. We have had it for about six months and have camped five times so far, including a recent trip to Florida. It is a great way to travel.

GuyGene--Too bad you're not interested in a classB anymore. I've got a 2005 like you were looking at and my wife and I love it. Bought used several years ago when we only camped in motels and hotels, now it is our preferred transportation for ANY DISTANT TRIP. If you change your mind there are a few additions and changes you absolutely need to consider in MHO. Just ask the folks on this very knowledgeable forum.

You should also get a knowledgeable Sprinter (Dodge or Freightliner) mechanic. The Mercedes dealers are not all familiar with the older Sprinters (5 cylinders) and will not use any parts without Mercedes Branded id, even if it's made by the OEM manufacturer.

There is also two very trusted sources for parts
EUROPARTS-sd very parts knowledgeable and honest with great prices
SPRINTER STORE in Portland area for Suspension parts and knowledge

Well, let me come back crawling and cryin'. Now ye ladies, I've just gotten even crazier as I get older. The term "boys" is wha' I use instead of "guys." Same meaning. It means y'all, you'uns, youse guys, etc.

Dagnabbit, that ridiculous email signup popup mess is driving me crazier than I am! Keeps coming up and I canno' finish me train of clever thoughts. Ahem, back to my inspiration...

Ok, reckon I shouldn't give up on the class b. But, I WILL have to get a bigger ac. Like I keep saying, my current 25' Aeorolite trailer gets vold quick! Duotherm unit I think it is. Also a 30 amp power cord.

$&$$@&$&&&$$ - and I don't even cuss. That doggoned popup... I've quit forums for less!

Yep, I'm a sailor. How'd ye know? Ok, I move slow boys (y'all ladies know...), so I'll keep me research going.

Thanks Stef! I should've figured that one out. I have an extremely low tolerance for sites that are too slow, allow popups, etc. Now, let me get back to browsing around here for interesting stuff...
