Battery Upgrade Question

Vehicle: 2009 AI
House batteries were dead when I bought the van so I'm upgrading to Lifeline 6CT batteries. For those that have installed these batteries in the AI battery box--how did you do about securing the batteries in the box? The batteries are much larger than what was in the box originally so there is not a lot of room for them to move around but it seems like they should be secured somehow. I haven't tried the existing battery straps but somehow I doubt they would work.

I cut a couple of blocks of plastic for a snug fit.

Wood blocks cut to size works too.

Anyone have an idea how Optima batteries compare to what comes from airstream. I've had my 2013 AI for a couple of weeks and just opened the compartment to find Optima blue top batteries.

Optima hypes their "spiral-cell" design as being superior to standard configurations, but the numbers actually tell a different story. Optima blue-tops have about 15% fewer amp-hours than a comparable-sized standard AGM house battery. If you need to replace them, I strongly urge you to consider Lifeline batteries.

I tried Optima in my boat and for whatever reason they just did not work out. I also would go with the Lifelines.

I installed my 6 v batteries in 2008. More juice! Still going strong after 85,000 miles and 7 years.
See my post way back then on installation.
