Bathroom floor options

I know there is a thread about this somewhere but I couldn't find it with the search. What are you using to cover the floor in the airstream interstate wet bath ?

I noticed last weekend, when I was camping at another unlevel dog show, that I was not quite level despite my efforts to raise one side and water would accumulate in one corner of the bathroom. I was thinking a teak mat would be nice but I'm not sure if there are any that would fit. Any other options ?

Not sure if it would work, but in the thread in Bambi-4 models/feature differences, one user had a teak bath mat that was hinged. Think it was from camping world. He used ½ of it and it fit in the bambi 16 wet bath.

Others have had Teakworks4u.com create a custom fit Teak Shower mat as shown here: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f240...at-110551.html. I really like it and almost bought one until I realized that I need every inch of headroom I can get. I'm 5'11 and another inch of height in the floor would cause me to touch the roof.

As migriffin mentioned, teakworks makes one for the interstate from a template a forum poster made a few years ago. The leadtime is currently 6 weeks.

A company called teakworks4u.com will build you a custom teak bath mat (grate) for under $200. I bought one and am very pleased with it. They have a template on hand for the Interstate bath. Good Luck

Thanks Bill, I just ordered mine too. 3 other orders ahead of me for the same thing so I might get mine earlier than the normal 6 weeks. He'll probably make them all at the same time.

Looks nice. Can you measure from ontop of teak mat to the ceiling? Want to see if this is an option for me. Thanks

Or I guess I could measure mine and subtract an inch? Lol

Looks great. How tall is it? I'm 6' tall and already have to duck my head a bit. I'm curious if it adds much height to the floor.

What's maintenance like for one of these? Teak oil? Mildewcide?

Arrow

Mild soap for regular cleaning and teak cleaner & teak oil for deep cleaning, which they say is every 3 months if it is used daily.

Mine measures 70" from the top of the grate to the bath ceiling. I am 5'11 so I stoop a bit when I enter the bath however we don't use the shower at all, just the toilet. In fact we added a 2nd folding mirror next to the kitchen sink and use that area for normal vanity duties. Teak mats (grates) are very professionally made and lend a nautical effect to the bath.

Good thread - gave me inspiration to create my own wet bath mat out of flow-through rubber. I had noticed scratching of the fiberglass floor and wanted to retrofit a protective solution, just hadn't gotten around to that little project. Materials - about twelve bucks assuming you make productive use of the rest of the cut mat in another location. Sourcing and sizing info in the post.

As some of you may already know, I recently ordered and received a teak mat for the bathroom floor on my 2013 AI Lounge. It fit very well and looked great too. Well, just last week I went ahead and traded in my 2013 for a 2016 Grand Tour, and I can't transfer the mat because the bathroom configuration is different. It's like mirror image.
I contacted Teakworks4u to see if they had a template for a Grand Tour, but they didn't. So I made a template and sent it to them. So if you own a GT and want the mat, they'll have the template for it. You're welcome Click image for larger version
