B190 inverter instead of generator?

Can you buy an inverter to give 120 volt off battery bank to operate the ac or microwave? Or is my only alternative to buy a generator? I don't plan to use it much but I don't want to invest thousands in a generator that is not used.

I'm sure there are inverters large enough to run those appliances. The inverter will cost you thousands not to mention the ginourmas battery bank you will need and then a generator to recharge them. Choices: If you need micro and ac, camp where there's an electric hookup, if not, do without those luxuries. The other option would be a small, quiet, portable generator.

You can buy a converter to do what you want, but you'll have to either add batteries or run the engine while using the microwave to supply enough power. (If the engine alternator can supply enough power - I'm not sure.)

The suggestion of a small generator, such as one of those Hondas, is a good idea. They'd be useful in emergency situations at home, too. Check the amperage, though - I'm not sure how much power the microwave draws.
