Airstream rebate
Just received email offering rebates on select trailers and interstates. Anyone know what the rebate amounts will be? Also, which interstates qualify. Just curious and do not wish to contact sales during holidays. Thanks

It's not on the website. Guess you have to call a dealer to find out. I couldn't even find a 2014 brochure.

Got the same email, fine print says, I believe, that the offer applies only to remaining on the lot, previously unsold 2013 units

I called a dealer and he told me 1,500 factory rebate for all 2013 trailers unsold on his lot. He does not sell interstates so it might be different for them.

Do rebates really matter? The price you negotiate will probably be the same in the end, rebate or no rebate. Any decent negotiator will get the price down well below the rebated price anyway.
Dealer will probably offer you the rebate first, and you'll negotiate down from there, not negotiate a price first and then tack on the rebate to bring it even lower.

Don't go there with the dealer. Ask to see the window sticker from airstream with the MSRP shown. Do your negotiating from there. Insist on any consumer rebate at the end. (Just like you would a new car). Remember 20% is the standard discount to shoot for, with more if you can and a little less if you have fallen in love at first sight.

The email says that the rebate is only on new 2013 and ends at the end of this year. You got to know that there will a bigger discount in 2014 on 2013 models

If my memory is correct the email and the Airstream web site indicate new (unused) 2013 and earlier models. That is, if a dealer had a new, never been titled, 2012 on the lot that model would also be eligible for the rebate. Searching new 2013, 2012, etc. is difficult - I'm not aware of a nationwide search method that allows you to see the stock of every dealer. I suspect Airstream doesn't know the dealer inventory either.
Anyone know where I can find a new 27' FB, twin bed, Safari SE? I don't recall which years included the Safari SE.

Sure it does. These are factory rebates so it does not cut into the dealers margin. It is your job to get the dealer as low as you can and then have the 1,500 that does not affect him but does get you money back. That 1,500 is out of your pocket, Intl the dealers and then the factory(airstream) pays you back

Oh well....got the rebate email 2 days after I took delivery. It doesn't matter in the long run. The rebate is in the noise level overall... I am happy rebate or no rebate. I got a good price and that is what really matters.
