Airstream interstate training video available soon

Yesterday I paid $130 to have Airstream in Fairfield California
training me on my 2014.5 AI.

I bought mine in Tuscon Arizona but didn't receive great training
so I thought some retraining would do me good.

Tomorrow I will post a link so that everyone here
have access.

It's about 51 minutes long and pretty good.

Stay tuned.

Best,

Ben

Also for winterizing, it's much easier to put the RV antifreeze in the fresh water tank and let the pump circulate it thru the system. Lot easier and less messy.

But getting the favor of the antifreeze out of your fresh water tank takes a lot of rinsing cycles. I added the device from Camping World that lets me fill the water lines with anti-freeze with the water pump. I then leave the fresh water tank empty all winter and then add a bit of bleach in the spring when I reactivate the water systems. I usually winterize mine two or three times a year as I make trips from frozen Maryland to warmer places in Florida and other points south.

I only put a couple of gallons in which just barely covers the bottom of the tank. Just rinse by running the hose for a couple of minutes w/ the drain plug out. Never noticed any after taste.

I quit watching right after the "teacher" said to get an inline water filter and then mentioned the potential high pressure from outside water sources as the reason

There is still a drain plug, of course. Draining the fresh tank by pumping as much water out as possible just means to USE the water for something, anything, before dumping the remainder. No point in wasting perfectly good water if you don't have to.

One possibility is to attach a 25-foot hose to your external shower fitting, and use your fresh water to wash the outside of the van. You can use up most of a tank in giving it a thorough rinse.

But he wasn't telling him to "use" it, just pump it out thru the low-point drains.

Glamper1 - the video is not showing up as full screen image on my PC. It looks like a cropped image that is mostly blacked out. It this right?

That IS kind of pointless. I like my version better.

It is the way it was shot. Suspect cell phone held vertically instead of horizontal.

Does that change the format from portrait to landscape or just make it fill the screen w/ the same proportions?

Airstream interstate training video available soon

I tried the video on my iPad and you can just change the orientation from landscape to portrait, which is obviously how the video was shot.

The only part of this video that confuses me is the claim by the dealer rep that you have to start the engine to get the battery isolator to close and allow charging all batteries by plugging into shore power. The Precision BIM has built in logic to charge the vehicle starting battery when plugged in based on measuring the voltages - so starting the engine is not necessary.

Not the first time a dealer rep has misunderstood technical specs.
