Airstream Avenue discontinued?
Just read from a dealer that the AS Avenue is being discontinued. Anyone have any confirmation of this, or is this just a rumor?

At the Forley RV (AKA Airstream if Mississippi) grand opening the end of September, Jim Parrett from Jackson Center was in attendance, and he said that the Airstream Avenue is being discontinued for 2013.

I think they never sold well.
Airstream needs to stick to Interstates.

Hard to sell 'em when they're basically kept secret. The first I heard of them was when I saw them on Colonial's website; Airstream.com didn't have them until much later than that.
And...I run a site for owners of the Airstream B190. Letting us know would've been a great first step - that is, trying to get people who already own a B190 to upgrade to the Avenue.

I asked the guys in the parts department if they had heard about discontinuing this model. Want to know what they said? All of them?
Blank look. "Avenue? What's that? I didn't know they made them. What do they look like?"
If the dealers don't even know about them, what hope does the general public have of finding out about them?

When Rick Foley's Airstream of Mississippi first opened and I was checking out their Interstates, I also looked at one of the Avenues they had on their lot. If I hadn't already convinced myself that I wanted a Sprinter-based conversion, I might have been tempted. Apparently someone was tempted, though, because Airstream of Mississippi no longer has any on their lot.

They don't look like bad campers, though it's pretty clear they're aimed to compete with the Roadtrek van. I got a tour of a Roadtrek a year or so ago, and the Avenue looked very similar from the pictures I saw.
