Dyslexia? It's actually 9480, not 9840.

According to the Sprinter owner's manual…
2500 chassis GVWR = 8550#, front axle 3970#, rear axle 5360#.
3500 chassis GVWR = 11030#, front axle 4410#, rear axle 7720#.

You may notice that if you add up the max axle weights, it comes out higher than the GVWR. That's not a mistake; it just accounts for varying weight distribution. As long as neither axle exceeds the max axle weight AND the total doesn't exceed the GVWR, you would be good to roll.

Given that your front axle is way overweight, you may want to shift some of your load to a box trailer (U-Haul?) or a hitch-mount cargo tray. Remember, you've still got to add the weight ot two people over that front axle, too.

You don't by any chance have the front and rear weights reversed? Jim

Sorry! I totally hosed this up! Must have been tired? Or too many days on the road? Severe senior moment?

Front: 3740#
Rear: 5740#
Total: 9480#

Thanks for catching my bad!!
