Maybe more importantly even, is learning the systems. I'm an engineer and am familiar with the forces at work, electrical...mechanical. The Kenwood unit is a serious situation as well. I've had the basics explained twice by very knowledgeable Kenwood dealer (not dealer as we had left on trip). I still have little confidence about using iPad for music played through Kenwood, and only a little better feeling about using Kenwood for hands-off iPhone.

All in all it's fun to figure out.

BTW, when you're home with unit is a great man cave, particularly if you have sat TV.

Good luck!

The easiest way to use your iPhone is with Bluetooth. Once you have your phone paired it will automatically answer the phone through the Kenwood. To listen to music, choose Bluetooth on the radio menu and it will find your phone. Select your music source on the iPhone and music will begin playing. The instruction sheet that should be in your manuals packet will walk you through the setup steps. Mine works great with incoming calls being crystal clear.

Amplifying jerhofer's comments: playing music through kenwood from my Samsung phone baffled me for a while until I figured out that, even when phone was bluetooth- paired with the system for phone calls, I had to do an additional pairing for bluetooth with the radio. Since then, it's a piece of cake.

Grey Water tank...
Not sure if it's an indicator problem or not. The grey water tank seems to be filling up really fast.
This has happened each day on our current trip. Tonight I dumped the black & grey water tanks and both showed empty on the monitoring panel (ran the pump on the grey tank until the pump started cavitating and not putting much out). Since then, my wife took a very quick shower, washed two dishes and utensils and we both brushed our teeth. Now the monitoring panel shows 2/3 full! Last night we had to use the water in our fresh water tanks since the campground was having water pressure problem.
The fresh water tank was full and after using it last nite the monitoring panel showed 1/3 of fresh water used; however, the grey water tank was showing 2/3's Full.

Any help is appreciated!

Mark

You might have a false reading... my black tank always reads 2 bars and my grey can swing wildly. I don't trust the panel levels at all...

The sensors for the fresh water tank are glued on to the side and there have been reports that they come off. Not sure about the black and gray but could be the same arrangement.

Mark,
We can talk on the phone if you want.
Do you have a twin or a lounge?

The old fashioned sensors in my unit just do colors......green, yellow, orange, red. When I read of the problems with the newer sensors, I am glad.

I can visually check how much fresh water I have, by looking in the lower galley cabinet, which is the best indicator of how quickly I need to fill the tank. The sensor on the fresh water will be red when there is 1/3 tank of water left....so I just ignore the sensor and pay attention to the water level.

You should know in gallons how much your grey tank will hold, and go from there. Mine holds 10 gallons.

If you are not using a dishpan, this is a good way to keep from filling your grey tank quickly. Use just what water is needed, then dump it into the toilet or away from your site under a tree or bush, if that is permitted.

The dishwater is good for sloshing around and breaking up the contents of your black tank.
