2013 Interstate Floor Mat Question

Our new 2013 Interstate came with a very nice one piece carpeted floor mat. For heavy duty use I prefer a rubber mat that I can easily clean. My two part question is how much is the stock Airstream replacement one piece carpeted floor mat versus a good one piece rubber mat and who makes one?

Camping world has many styles. I use this approach in our trailer.

1. PVC Patio Mat.
2. Mats on Steps
3. Airstream Mat at entrance door.
4. Area rugs on floors.

The more mats the more dirt that stays out of the trailer. A Interstate may need more attention. Enjoy your trips.

Most places I've shopped for Sprinter accessories have two-piece sets that just cover the driver's and passenger's footwells, not the area between the seats. If you want a one-piece rubber mat with the same coverage, you may be out of luck, unless you've got a source I'm not familiar with.

I've found the carpet easy enough to clean. I just take it to the coin-op car wash, find a clean piece of pavement to lay it on (or make a clean place by spraying the pavement first), and then just hose it down, first with soapy water, then with plain water to rinse. Then I roll it up inside a plastic garbage bag to take it home, and drape it over my shower curtain rod at home to dry (no clothesline at my apartment complex). Stubborn spots usually respond to a plastic-bristle scrubbrush after I've soaped down the carpet.

Used to wash carpeted floor mats at my parents' restaurant that way all the time. Just remember not to wax it. Don't know if this technique would work with oil stains, though.

Ours has a carpeted floor mat that snaps down, and has held up very well. We vacuum it regularly and put it into the washing machine last year for the firet time. Dried it in the sun in about 30 minutes.

We bought two ridged, rubber, heavy duty mats and just put those over the top on driver and passenger side.

They catch and hold dirt and water, spray clean and dry quickly.

We have the Weathertech front matts in ours. We like them because they contain liquids and dirt. They fit like a glove. One caution, when going to the coach area from the two front seats, you have to watch your footing on the raised sides of the matt, really no big deal. They are easily cleaned out and dry quickly.

Yes I got the Weathertech matts too. One piece for the front and if you want a small piece for between the front seats.

We are looking for front floor mats for our 2014 Interstate EXT. In a parts inquiry to WeatherTech via email they think it would be too small for that area. I am referring to the WeatherTech part 44249-1-2. PSchw used it in his 2013 coach. Has there been some change to that area of the coach between 2013 and 2014 models???

Which engine? If it's the 3.0liter V-6, then the mats will fit everything from 2007 to 2014. If you've got a different engine size, maybe not.

It is the 3.0 V6 Turbo diesel. Great engine, BTW. We cruised at 72-73 mph and got 16.5 - 18.1 mpg. Thanks for the floor mat update. I knew you would have the info.

Without question I would recommend WeatherTech floor mats. They have a couple of ranges of floor mats but their DigitalFit range is perfect if you think you're going to bring mud and other dirt into the cab. It has a high lip to keep in the dirt and you can easily lift them out and scrub them.

Yes they are great. Not sure why AS even would put a carpet there.

Sounds like I'm blowing against the wind here but I had the weathertech and switched back to the Airstream one piece carpeted mad instead. Makes it feel much less industrial in the cockpit and I did not like the lumps and bumps of the two piece weathertech setup. I have not priced a replacement from Airstream but I'd like to know what they get for one. I did like the fact that I could wash the weathertech and it would be dry in minutes on a hot summer day. Plan to try washing the carpet like Protag does as soon as I get a warm sunny weekend day to let it dry laying out in the sun in the back yard.
