2005 AI sliding door not working

I've had the van since may last year and the sliding door has always taken a little slam to close it. It wouldn't close at all last weekend due to something wrong with the rear latch.
Looking at he striker bar it appear to be misaligned with the latch on the door. I have tried moving in all directions but it still will not close fully.
I need to remove the door and probably replace the latch and maybe middle roller mechanism.
Has anyone here on the forum replaced or repaired a similar problem with their sliding door on a 2003-2007 Sprinter ?
Any hints,tips or suggestions are welcome. I already have some info from the Sprinter forum but with the aluminum sheet covering the door panel I suspect I will need to remove this ??

We replaced the latch on our sliding door a few years ago.

Seemed to have just worn out from use.....a good problem to have.

Go to the Sprinter forum. The door was a common problem on older Sprinters. Peace,jim
