Spook is gone

I'm writing this through my tears, both for all of your losses and for the loss of my old friend Spook who died last night at the age of 18 due to cardiomyopathy. He was the best cat in the world and this trailer already feels so empty and cold without him in it.

Goodbye old friend.

What a beautiful kitty. Black kitties have a special place in my heart. I have had 2. the last one was a longhair that I had to put down 2 years ago. All kitties are wonderful, but there is just something extra with all black ones.

I hope you find comfort as you remember your friend.

So sorry to hear that you've lost Spook. They can leave a terrible hole in our lives even after a few years with us, but after 18 the hole is enormous.

He was sure a good looking cat!

Thank you for sharing your story about your life with Spook - I can barely see my computer screen due to my tears. Your story has opened up the wounds I suffer from losing our beloved Bonnie Angel, our beautiful Airstream colored cat who died from a advanced heart condition this past December. But it's a good hurt, I feel her all around me.

Thanks again.

Full Circle - Miss Bandit has Passed...

The same girl I wrote about in post 159 has now passed...
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f239...tml#post665564

We woke up to the sound of her first ever seizure this morning at 5am. We were camping near Garner State Park near the Frio River and drove 4 hours back to Austin to our vet where we put her to sleep peacefully.

The day was cloudy, cold, and wet as we loaded Bandit into the truck for what we knew was her last ride. We are now back at our campsite one less dog, and one huge hole in our hearts...

Prim and I now need to cope and adjust, as everywhere we look we expect to see our Bandit looking right back at us, speaking softly with her gentle eyes and soft fur...

Bandit was a strong girl, like her Daddy (too much at times) and fought her liver cancer, degenerative hips, and other ailments till the very end. The original diagnosis was 6 months to a year back in Feb 2009. She showed them...

The tough old girl showed everyone what she was made of, and finally made a peaceful departure this morning surrounded by her human mommy, daddy, and grandma...

Bandit Li
1997-2011

We love you forever!
