Perhaps someone might have a pet that thinks this is great.

That's interesting. Does it have a name so I can try to find one?

The Backseat Safety Dog Deck.
DescriptionReviewsLifetime Guarantee
This is the shelf that creates a safe, comfortable platform for dogs riding in a vehicle’s back seat. The uneven surfaces, shallow depths, and slopes of back seats cause dogs to pace and claw to avoid sliding backwards. Eliminating both behaviors while protecting upholstery and preventing dogs from falling into a back seat’s footwells, the 48"-wide x 23"-deep deck has integrated rear leveling blocks and two adjustable front legs that create a stable level surface. Supporting dogs up to 200 lbs., it also keeps pet cages in-place with a molded non-slip surface that removes for easy machine washing. Easily transported, the deck folds in half to 24" L x 23" W x 4" D. Made in U.S. from recycled plastic. (12 lbs.)

Dog car space.

Hi, I have similar in my Lincoln; I just put [whole] cardboard boxes between the front seat backs and the rear seat cushions. I cover them with a mover's blanket, add dog bed, water bowl, and sometimes food dish. Dusty / Boo-Boo rode there for 50 days and over ten thousand miles on our Alaska trip. In my wife's BMW X-3 I had to fabricate cardboard boxes to fit between the seats. I have a dog blanket, covered with a towel, with his bed, and water dish. These pictures are of the BMW set up for my dog. He loves it and it's comfortable for him.

Cost not counting his bed and water bowl, about $15.00 or less.

Don't you know the grass is WET? and COLD?

Attica is an incredible dog - she loves the water - can't pass up a puddle to go swimming - the dirtier the better -
or just say the word "run" in the middle of a driving rainstorm and she is ready to go ....

BUT ....

.... ask her to go out and do her morning "business" if the grass is wet? ....

..... well that is an entirely different story .....

..... "no way!" she says .....

..... "I'll just sulk up here on this picnic table till things dry out ...... "

Ha!! That's exactly what that dog is thinking! :-)

Daisy loves picnic tables too. At our local off leash park, the picnic tables are for the dogs to jump on and play. Of course - she doesn't understand why that gets a very negative reaction by my wife (aka, Lady Person to Daisy) at a campsite ....here Daisy's thinking...

Huh? Wait - Lady Person, are you saying I can do this with my buddies at the park but NOT when we're in my rolling silver dog house? Good to know....good to know....

I believe he (or she) is thinking, "He forgot to put a dog treat in that hand before he put it in front of my mouth"
