I'm so sorry to hear of your loss of Thunder. We lost Cookie 2 years ago and still feel the loss. Sophie does a great job of filling some of the void, but Cookie will always hold a dear place in our hearts.
May the sands of time help heal your hearts and memories sustain you for many years to come.
Marie

Our sympathies go out to you and your family. The good times you had are treasures and I'm sure there are moments when the sun was shining on him in just a certain way or his head was cocked quizically when he was trying to understand--those moments are captured forever.
We can't thank all of you enough for your kind words and thoughts. Yesterday was a very rough day...we would both start to do something for Thunder or go to check on him when we walked into the house after being somewhere.....so sad.
We finished preparing his grave on the hillside out back. He will be buried this afternoon under a tree next to our other dog we lost a few years ago. He will be next to the big pond he loved so much and we are wrapping him in his blanket and putting his favorite toy with him.
We got out pictures of him yesterday and had some tears and laughs as we remembered all the goofy and loving things he did for us.....what a very special good boy he was.
Thunder got to go on one camping in the Airstream after we bought it. He did pretty good but was already slowing down and we left him with a neighbor when we went on future trips. He would, however, go out to the Airstream with me when I was working on something and would lay by the door and watch his neighborhood.
Thanks again to all of you....this is a very special family here on the forum.

Steve, I too am sorry for your loss. My dog is a senior and I know he is slowing down. I am not looking forward to that day when his travel is over. Take care, dear Airstream friend..........
I'm so sorry to hear about Thunder's passing. It is so sad to loose a part of your family. Hope you heal a bit every day and reflect on all the happy times.
Well Steve, if you do a search on just about any of the names in this thread you will find lots of critter condolences. This is probably the nicest bunch of people you will find on the net.
Thank you for letting us know about Thunder and allowing us to share the loss. A grief shared is a grief halved, and a joy shared is a joy doubled. There are a lot of prayers and good wishes for you and your family. Remember you are not alone.
Best wishes,
John

Sorry For Your Loss.
We know your pain here also. We had to say GOODBYE to LUCY our 9 yr old Schnauzer in September. We rescued her from the Pound in Columbus, Ohio in April 2008. Immediatley she was diagnosed with Diabetics after a vet check, she was also blind. She got so she would come to me twice a day for her insulin. We knew going in what the out-come was going to be but we loved her and enjoyed her while we had her.
She loved to ride and travel.
She had liver failure and went to Doggie Heaven In Sept
Its quiet here now.The other two miss her also.
