Unfortunately while we have had a lot of happy times in June with the Moraine View rally, it also brings back some thoughts of our four legged friends we lost around the same time. About 3 years ago two weeks after Moraine View we lost Smokey due to pancreatic cancer.
Yesterday his buddy Bandit was relieved of his pain after 9 month struggle with arthritus. Here are Smokey and Bandit in happier times.

So sorry that you've lost your pals. We have two elderly pups, like yours Hoi is black and Dahli is white. Please excuse me while I wipe away the tears and share your grief.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. My Imma has been very ill this last week. She's on pain meds now, but we still don't know what's wrong with her. I feel for anyone who has lost a friend now that I wonder what is in store for Imma.
I'm sorry for your loss. They're waiting for you at the bridge.

Jack, my sincere sympathy regarding Bandit, and to you as well RC with Rita. Juel, I feel your concern for Imma. I totally understand what you each are going through right now.
Coincidentally, I lost my first dog, my sweet Maggie, yesterday as well. Battling spinal problems, her hindquarters finally gave way, stopped functioning, and took away her dignity. She was at least 14 years old. I knew it was time.
Even though we all know these days are coming but one can never prepare for the reality. The heartbreak is tremendous.

Mom used to utter whenever we lost a dog when I was a boy that we will not get another, "It is too difficult a loss." However,we would find ourselves loving another. 12 years ago we lost our son's lab while he was away in the Navy. I telephoned him at the clinic (he is and still is a corpsman) where he was working with the sad news. In a later conversation he told us that after he hung up that call his Chief asked what was wrong. He told of losing the dog he had since he was 6. His chief told him to take a day off. Obviously he was a pet lover too. Our best to you.

Dacia, I'm so sorry to hear you lost Maggie. Bandit's problem also involved his spine we think. When we got back from our Memorial Day campout he was unable to get up. He lost most of the muscle function from his hindquarters, and when he became unable to get up or remain standing on good surfaces, I knew the time had come. Bandit was also almost 14 years old. So a lot of good rememberences and good times for both you and us here.
