RVNanny and other 2G devices on AT&T

Hi All,

We have an RVNanny which uses a 2G GSM network. AT&T is turning off their 2G network January 1, 2017, which meant our RVNanny was about to be useless.

I recently discovered that T-Mobile has said they would continue their 2G GSM network until at least 2020. I just got back from the T-Mobile store where I replaced the AT&T SIM with a T-Mobile SIM and the RVNanny is working fine on the T-Mobile 2G GSM network.

If you have an RVNanny or other 2G device on the AT&T network, I suggest checking out T-Mobile. Here is a link to the T-Mobile press release on their 2G network plans.

That's interesting. Especially because AT&T just eliminated overage charges by restricting devices to the 2G (edge) network when data overruns.

BTW, T Mobile uses AT&T's network, unless they have recently developed their own.

Not saying AT&T won't do this, but it seems like they'd be shooting themselves in the foot again. Please keep us posted on how the RV nanny works with T Mobile.
