Protecting upholstery from doggies

Does anyone know of a slipcover that would fit the sofa seating in a 25FB Flying Cloud? We just purchased the new trailer, complete with the leather upholstery. We have three rescue mutts who love to look out the window. We're worried about punctures and scratches. Currently we have them covered with blankets, but woul like something a bit more "tailored".

We made terry cloth slip covers for ours. We just sewed in elastic and they stretch over the cushions.

If you have the ultra leather, relax. My two basset hounds have been on and off of it for 2 1/2 years with nary an issue. Oh, that includes mud, drool, you name it. If you keep their nails clipped I can't imagine that you could have an issue. Other dog owners?

Went to JoAnn's fabric and got some polyester stretchy fabric. No sewing..it just tucks in around all the cushions.

grandma's plastic seat covers

You can purchase some high quality (will withstand the dogs nails) shower curtains from Kohls and tape them to fit. Its kind of like wrapping a bday present. Clear tape for the edges and Blue tape on the underside of the pillow works great.

I've had mine on for two years without any tears or punctures. Plus it allows you to see the natural beauty of the original fabric/pattern and protects them from dirt and liquid spills. Just wipe away the mess.

Hope this helps.

Our issue is a cat that slips through the curtains to see outside! Curtains are shot! I know, train the owners, right?

If you have ultra-leather, it holds up to dogs very well, shouldn't have any problems.

We travel with three dogs. We have the ultra leather. Our largest dog is a border collie who loves to look out the front window. We purchased a couple of bathroom rugs with the no skid backing. We place those on the seats mainly to protect from their dirty feet. The ultra leather is fairly durable. The rugs remove easily and easily pop in the wash.
Keep their nails clipped and you should be fine.

On my sofa at home I use plastic carpet runners turned upside-down. My Lab doesn't care for the little plastic knobs sticking up, neither does the cat.

We use mover's pads or big cheap washable acrylic blankets. Our smallish dogs love them. If they have a couch to lay about on they are very happy.

We have two labs and the same type of trailer....we do not want them on our leather sofas, so we just fill the sofas with all the pillows at night before we go to bed, and they have learned not to get up there.

Get bigger dogs who don't need to be on the furniture to see out.

I hate to be in the minority, but, um, er, we don't let our dog up on the bed or upholstery. Having two kids with asthma, and friends with serious pet allergies, we try to restrict the doggie dander & dog hair to the floor--where she has a comfortable mat. Our dog is an old girl now, but when she was young and tempted to make herself more comfy when we were out, we simply put stuff on top of the bed and dinette seats to discourage her. This worked pretty well.

We cover furniture with acrylic washable"dig blankets" that have sturdy fabric on one side and fuzz on the other. They're washable, and our little dogs love to make nests in them in cold weather. Furniture, in their opinion needs to be shared by the pack. They do tend to stay off the bed at home and in the AS because that's where the pack alphas sleep. I.e mom and dad. Daughters bed seems to be fair game. The pack established pecking order is interesting...

Yeah, we probably love our doggies a little too much, but all they want is a soft place to sleep in exchange for a lot of love and regular feeding 😊

We use bed sheets at home, and on the sofa in the camper. They are easy to buy and you can color coordinate. FWIW my mutt is a short hair so sheds like crazy. He is a Jack Russell/Walker Hound cross.

Get the cheaper "throws"....for furniture. Or train dogs to stay on floor.

We picked up a big pre-sewn piece of denim at a fabric store (already had the hems sewn in around all four sides). It's 6' wide and 12' long. Cost us $10 (what a bargain)! I drape it over the couch, tucking it in at the bottom in the front and between the bottom of the upright cushions and the back of the seat cushions. All of the extra fabric hangs over the top and behind the back of the couch. It makes for a nice looking very durable cover that also goes well with our interior colors. It's easy to remove and shake off if it gets dog hair or sand on it (which it does). And if it gets dirty, it's long enough to turn around and let the dirty part hang behind the couch. At the end of our trips, it comes off and goes into the wash, then it's clean and ready for the next trip. We've had it for at least 12 years and it works great!

We have a Boston Terrier and a retired racing Greyhound. We too do not allow the pups on the furniture in the AS or at home. At home, we crate them but in the AS cannot fit both of their crates. In our old camper, we were not too worried and only crated the Boston due to the smaller crate. The Greyhound was okay as long as the blinds were closed. If he couldn't see out, he wouldn't get up too much.

Now with the AS, we are trying to come up with a way to keep him off. Yes, we have Ultra Leather, however, we still don't want them on the furniture.

What other ideas do people have for keeping them off other than just putting stuff on the seats. We like to keep the camper tidy and would rather not have "stuff" around just as a dog deterrent!

Protecting upholstery from doggies

My wife made one out of a fitted bottom sheet, which she altered to fit the cushions. The fitted part goes under the cushions further than a fitted sheet fits on a mattress, since the two cushions can be lifted up and the fitted part put on, then the cushions can be pressed back into place, making a very secure fit. The dog learned very quickly that that was her spot, and is the only place she jumps up on inside the trailer. This leads to some minor conflicts when some human wants to sit or sleep there, but she also has her regular bed under the dinette, and since she mainly just wants to be around people, she is pretty agreeable about giving up her spot if someone else wants to use it.

We also have ultra leather, but seeing how dirty the fitted sheet gets, I'm happy to just be able to take it off and wash it when it needs it.
