pet tag!

Look, we know lots of Airstreamers with doggies (and cats!) -- and when we're able, we plan to adopt again. (Subscribe to "BorderColliie Anonymous" on Facebook! You'll love the pics!) Anyway, somebody on Facebook posted a link to a really neat pet tag site: For every purchase of a tag, they evidently support shelters. And the tags themselves are really neat!!

in addition ...

And, in addition, how about this. Looks like the backside of that pet tag might be free, so how about doing yourself a free QR code to someplace where folks can find you and your pet! (Below's one I just made; if you've got a smartphone, could you check to see if it does indeed lead to my Facebook page?) Just print yours up and attach it to the back of the pet tag!

Also you might consider micro chipping your pet. It works, vets and shelters know to check any stray animal that comes in.

Our Navajo Pointer (rescue dog off the Rez) is chipped and she wears a special tag when we're traveling with both of our cell phone numbers.

For those who Chip their dog, which is recommended of all dogs. At our rescue we chip before the dogs leave for their forever homes, but we also suggest a tag as Denis4x4 has done. The reason is chips generally go in the back area, behind the neck, I know I put them in, and often times the chips migrate, either into the chest area or down a leg, for some reason it seems to be the right leg more than any other place. Unfortunately some shelters and even veterinarians only check the neck area and might miss the chip. Our two have the tags, they both state - I AM CHIPPED and then on the other side both our cell numbers.

How about also writing your phone number on the inside of the collar with a sharpie? Low tech but effective.

my dogs have their name and my cell phone number embroidered on the collar itself.

And I ask for the reflective stitching along the outside edges.
