It was fun to see him progress.

That's such a great picture! We are so amazed by diving dogs! Our first Chessie (named Honey) was water-obsessed, but she could never dive, just bellyflop. She lived to be 15 1/5 and swam on her last day. We rescued her from our local SPCA in Ontario, Canada. She was CKC registered, gun-trained, obedience and agility trained. We discovered all this after we got her. The man at the shelter said, "She seems pretty smart. She sits when we tell her to." Wow...had he only known! We had to learn to catch up to her. We also discovered her water-obsession. That may be how she wound up wandering downtown in my city. We think she just kept swimming and drifted away from her masters. They probably never thought she got as far as she did and never thought to look at the SPCA in my city. She may have swam her way around Lake Ontario to my city, St. Catharines!
Now we have another Chessie, possibly a mix, or just not so well-bred. He has no CKC tattoo. He is wavy, but has no major curls around his neck. He also is a rescue, but he has no pedigree like our first one had. He's a good boy, though. When we got him, we thought that he'd astound us with his diving ability...HAH! He won't even bellyflop in the pool! He will only swim in a lake where he knows there is the safety of the shore. I'll post pictures of my boy, Goliath in a minute. He's a handsome boy too!

Daisy and Goliath
Here are my two...I couldn't resist sharing after looking at all the other cuties! Goliath is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever and Daisy is a Shih-Tzu. We named Goliath after the dog in the claymation children's series "Davey and Goliath." They look similar, and my Goliath is also worried about people falling down mine shafts (just kidding, but he does always have a worried expression). When Daisy came along, he thought she was amazing (and she makes a good pillow). They are great pals. Daisy is wearing a lei in the one picture because she was in "costume" at our other trailer club (Bolerama). We had a 14 ft Surfside fiberglass trailer decorated in a Hawaiian-Surf theme. She entertained the people touring our unit.

Don't Airstreamers have the cutest pets! Of course mine never seem to be moving, but we love them just the same. They make camping so much more fun when the kids are grown and gone.

Thanks. That's Orie from a box of puppies in front of Wal-Mart one trip to Oregon and Kee Kee our little walk-in from the fields one fall day. They are great travelers and companions. Taking their pictures on rainy days gives me something to do.

Camping with the "Kid?"
Our grandogger.
I'm kinda embarrassed .... never thought I would be one of those folks who struts around pictures of the family pet .... always kind of looked at those people as being a little wierd ..... needing a real life .... and now I'm into showing her off on multiple posts! .... God help me .... I must be getting old and mushy ....
This little gal loves to go camping (actually she loves to go pretty much anywhere). We just finished up two weeks with her at our favourite campsite - what can I say - she makes a terrific contribution to the enjoyment of any trip.

My travel companions
We have two Italian Greyhounds traveling with us. They took to the travel life very quickly and LOVE it! AJ enjoys eating anything and learned quickly where the garbage can in the Airstream is located. So, we had to put child safety locks on the doors. Buddy, our shy dog, is content as long as we are in his sight and he has a lap to snuggle up to!
