But it gets better...
One of our team, lost his 2 dogs last year.
He came along to support us, and while he was there he fell for a Dog called Jasper...
Jasper went home with him, so 2 great dogs found loving home today!
The unconditional love of a dog must be experienced to be appreciated. They are man's best friend for a very good reason. We hate to see them depart, but if we treated them with love and compassion, we can sleep well knowing we did the best we could as they did in return.

Congratulations all around. Wonderfull to see a pup go to a loving family, and a family that is willing to provide a good home for a loving pet. Hope to meet you down the road someday. Pat
Yeah! Cheers to all. Wonderful story and you are extremely blessed to have so many friends to show up and help. Heartwarming. Thank you for sharing, you made my day.
This morning I was apprehensive to open this thread, so glad of the outcome. You have very special friends. Price of dog...peanuts, the joy this dog will give you...priceless. Congratulations Keyair...you made my day.
Thanks everyone!
Yes, we know who our friends are. We did provide bottles of our home made Lemoncello to some who are further afield... maybe that helped!
I took her to Home Depot yesterday alone. Moose had a lot of fans there. They just loved her and one of the guys teared up when he saw Latte. She was calm, gentle, loving and a little shy there and I had to pick her up a few times but the feedback was wonderful for her and us.
She is eating well but had not been on puppy food at the shelter so we expect to see her health, and growth improve now she is.
Her paperwork says she is 18 weeks or 4 1/2 months and that is probably about right based on the fact she is loosing puppy canines now. 2 fell out since we got her.
The opinion on her breed are interesting. The coat and color says Chocolate Lab. Her feet look like American Staff or Pitt and she has a hint in her face, but the nose shape, ears and walking gait says German shepard! What I mean is she walks low, her head and neck is low slung between her shoulders and her rear end is lower.
Her stitches are not bothering her so the cone of shame is off. She loves her crate and zips in there for security if she gets scared or nervous. We have not crated our dogs before so this is new to us.
Cole is not happy, so we have a trainer coming in today to assess them both and try to smooth things.
Pets are also welcome at restaurants with outdoor seating. If they sit under the table and stay quiet, people never know. If there's another dog, sit 20' away from it, and you will be ok. You should have pictures of Moose in the ''Pet Photo Contest?'' thread. I love that thread. Enjoy your new addition to your family Keyair

Lupe loves her crate, and while she usually starts off at night next to our bed, we will hear her stumbling into her crate later on and banging around against the walls until she gets comfortable. Sometimes when I can't immediately find her during the day, I'll look in her crate and there she'll be curled up in the back. Wants some time alone, I guess.
Hi from AZ. . . we just brought a new rescue pup home yesterday. . . Texas girl delivered to us by Chuck & Jana in AZ, WITH her sister for our friends to take home. She's a chocolate lab looking mix, her sis is speckled & spotted, and they are very sweet pups. ( Vet says same Mom, different Dads ) We love them already. . . these pups just breathe a little new life in our world ! ! !Thank God for these rescue folks, they're the best. . . be careful out there, Craig
First 3 days have been wonderful.
She is a real character but in a mellow way. Slept all nights in her crate with no issues like whining.
Yes, she is a little puppy like, investigating and chewing a little but nothing serious.
The part I like the best is she seems to have stepped into Mooses shoes. She is happy to sit on the sofa next to Robyn just as Moose did. That filled the void that Robyn was feeling. Cole is pretty much wherever I am.
Today, she will go for a Play day/assessment at Paws Pet Resort. They will report back on her social skills with a variety of dogs and general temperament. I am expecting no issues.
Cole is still avoiding her like the plague. He does a big wide birth around her and looks away or looks at me for direction which I think is a good sign.
One interesting thing is we were out at Petsmart yesterday and someone said she looked like a Cattle Dog mix. I did a google search on that when I got home and tried Cattle dog/chocolate lab and boom. There she was or pretty close.
First pic is Latte, second is a Australian Cattle dog/chocolate lab mix.
Here is the Kennel card and the Photo that caught my eye...
She is totally settling in and part of our family now.
Mama is happy again to have a dog that hangs with her!
We took her to Paws on Tuesday.
Here she is enjoying the drive sitting tall in the back of our old Range Rover!
It was like dropping your 4 year old child at Daycare for the first time!
The Trainer met us in the Foyer at 9.30am. He immediately commented positively on her posture and body language. As other dogs arrived, to be dropped off, he was even more impressed with her calm and reserve. After 5 mins, he took her back, and within 5 mins was back and pointed at the Webcam, where he stated that she was totally up for, and comfortable going into the Big dog play room which is HUGE! She was basically the smallest dog there in that room.
It can be rambunctious. but Moose was the queen bee there, and like Latte was in there from day 1! She ran around, greeted and hung with all the dogs all day.
We watched her on the webcam from home a few times during the day, and watched her just milling around, and following the pack
The feedback was amazingly good when we picked her up at 4pm.
