Meet our new pack mate

Born March 22, 2007. Name not settled yet - called Moose for the moment.

Seems a little soon (I still don't believe emotionally that I'll never see Jacques again), but the house was sooo empty.

'Moose' comes from long lived stock with no heart problems on both sides.

Little "Moose" is beautiful, and I'm sure he will do his best to try to fill that hole in your hearts. Congrats on the new member of your family!

Moose is adorable! Remember, he's not a replacement, more of a monument to all the joy and love Jacques shared with you. Give him your love freely and you'll all be fine

After seeing pics of Jacques and the size of the feet on the new boy, I think the name Moose will definitely be appropriate!

Are they mastiffs of some sort?

Moose is ADORABLE!!! And we just did the same thing after losing Buster in February. The place was not the same without a goofy dog around.

He will never replace Jacques, but he will help your hearts heal.

Happy travels with the new boy!

Susan

They are Dogues de Bordeaux aka French Mastiffs. The breeder thinks moose will be ~150 pounds, Jacques was ~110.

Welcome, Moose, from our Moose, our 2 year old German Shorthair Pointer. From the look of the feet, your Moose fits the name a little better! Jacques will always have your heart, but the wonderful thing about hearts and love is they grow to enfold all our dear ones. ~G

Greetings from Mac, our Border Collie. He joined us last April, 2 days after Apollo, our 150 lb Great Dane passed . It's tough to have a quiet house for even 2 days. A Border Collie fixed that for sure!
Mac says I should post a photo when I get a chance.

Moose just made me laugh out loud he is so adorable. And just like everyone else has mentioned - the first thing I noticed about him was the size of his paws! He is adorable. Not a replacement for Jacques, but definately an enhancement to your life.

Good for you. He's a beauty. After many years, and too many lost pups, we've found that sooner is better than later. Nothing fills that void so fast as a new pup that needs us. Enjoy.

Great looking dog, fitting name it seems, and a great tribute to his predecessor that you quickly found it in your hearts to provide a loving home for another little guy. Moose will make you laugh often and he'll only help you heal without erasing any of your current memories.

Take care and look for pics of the little guy transitioning to the Big Guy.

What a gorgeous doggy! I think Moose is quite a playful name but by the size of those paws I'd say he may well live up to it! Lol!

What a great looking pup! Moose has a big pair of shoes to fill, but with those paws, I think he can do it!
