Cattle dog a.k.a blue healer a.k.a Sadie B. ( the B is from her father, Booger)
Go anywhere do anything, good watchdog, complete loyalty, and on fridays or frisbee time, a real pain in the ---! Our second healer, great dogs. But don't let anyone fool you, I haven't met a dog yet that doesn't get tripped over in an Airstream!

Our Chesapeake Bay Ret. picked out our 2017 30' FC. She crawled up under the dining table and laid down and went to sleep and won't move. As long as she has her two play toys, food and a water dish she is fine. She travels very well in the TV, all you need to do is rattle the keys and she sits besides the door of the TV waiting to jump in.

My travel buddy is a Goldendoodle, kinda hard not to spoil any though. It’s your preference, they are a blessing to travel with, no matter the breed !!

Is there a breed of dog suited to an Airstream?

Finding one that does not get carsick or panicky is key. My experience is that a carsick dog, regardless of size, can barf gallons at times. Fortunately ours don’t seem to have the problem. One of ours would rather not jump in, you have to go invite him personally. The other three are at the truck door trying to get aboard even if we are not going anywhere!!!

Once aboard, they sleep happily on the freeway, but wake up to see where we are when I go down the off ramp into local surface traffic...they make very distinct “are we there yet” noises at that time.

Had never heard of a Sloughi. Had to look up the breed. Very cool dog.

Our Hanni, adopted last fall from the kill shelter, is a Siberian Husky. Lovable, kind of crazy, very much a part of the family, and very much enjoying the new-to-us moho.

And then there's the downside. She sheds like crazy. And she has declared the big couch on the moho as her property. We can live without the couch. And while at home, the Derwisch runs daily to keep up. Alas, the Derwisch does not run in the moho.

I'm not sure there's any dog that isn't ideal for an Airstream.

I'm partial to rescued Bloodhounds - but go with whatever you can snag at a shelter. You won't be sorry.

Here's Daisy snuggling with her Lambchop....she loves her silver dog house!

Cisco

Cisco, our Golden Doodle, loves to be with us where ever we are. He’s smart as a whip, doesn’t shed, and is a great guard dog! A little spoiled, though.

We have 2 Yorkies. Brother and sister, 3 years old. Never seen anything they won't bark at! Don't shed and both like the cuddle, especially on their back.

Spoiled? Na, they only smell like that occasionally. A trip to the groomer usually cures that issue. [emoji3][emoji3][emoji3]

Best dog for Airstream

The standard poodle is a great choice as they are smart, travel well, friendly yet protective and can help drive when needed.

Is there a breed of dog suited to an Airstream?

Nancy and Lupe wait in bed until I get the furnace going and make coffee.
