I think he's a water cat!

We finally took our Abysinnian cat, Ras Tafari, on our last trip to Roaring River. He liked going for walks the best, and the water was fine! We sure got some looks when we brought our cat back from the creek all wet, I am sure everybody thought we had tried to drown him, but as you can see, it was all his idea!

What a beauty! I've heard Abysinnians tend to be REAL active, is that the case with Ras Tafari?

That's neat! You learn something new every day - apparently Abyssinian cats do have a tendency to like water.

Breed Profile - Abyssinian Cat

Cool stuff!

Now, you've got to teach him to fetch a ball/stick in the water...

He is a very active cat! A little timid about his first time camping, every time somebody got too close to the trailer, he hid under the pillows on the dinette seats, but he got better about it before we left. I don't know about "teaching" him to fetch, about the only things he brings in are lizards, snakes, big bugs and the occasional bird, which he never kills. When we take him for a walk, he is just like a little kid--wants to keep going until he drops, then doesn't want to go home and has to be carried. But he does like the water!
