Help Save Jack!

O.K. my friends this is an appeal to all you pet owners out there. I know we have a bunch of pet lovers out there.

It's been a while since I posted on the forum but the AS is parked due to the price of gas. I've been working from the SUV and staying in hotels.

A very unique approach by a good friend of mine to solve a financial problem he's facing.

Follow this link to an eBay auction and make your own decisions as to your support if any. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=270255056493&ssPa geName=...

Check out eBay item # 270255056493

Aside from being a great friend and mentor this fellow has a heart of gold. Check out the photos on the auction.

Glenn, I chipped in to help. As someone that has recently lost a pet, I understand the anguish losing one can cause.
If your friend is set up with Paypal, you can post his pay-to info here, and forums users can donate through Paypal, and not incur further Ebay fees.

Hello, I just chipped in direct to his paypal per Terry's suggestion.

You could suggest that he add Airstream to his list of search key-words: Key words-cancer, cure, necklace, ring, watch, car, Cadillac, Mercedes, Porsche, Jaguar, Pontiac, Chevrolet, Toyota, Nissan, Subaru, Honda, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Chrysler, Dodge, Saturn, Volvo, BMW, Diamonds, Gold.

Ordinarily, I hate keyword spam, but this may be one of those times when the end justifies the means. Sometimes rules need to be bent a little.

Just to be clear, the keyword list I included was from his ebay listing. I was suggesting that he add Airstream since his listing had been mentioned here.

I was touched by this story earlier today. I sent a few bucks the ebay way before the PayPal email address came out.

Jack looks so much like my Gracie, except in the picture of him on his back. I wish Jack a full recovery. Labs are such sweet dogs...

Guy, I had seen those in his Ebay listing, which is what I was commenting about. If he's going to have all those keywords, what's one more?

Terry, I passed this on to him. Not sure if an edit to the auction for keywords is possible but it was a great idea.

Jack is still undergoing treatment. His owner is now beyone $8K in medical bills for him but still keeps going.

We know Jack would do the same for him.

Jack has had multiple rounds of kemo and has turned down radiation.

Lymph nodes have shrunk and he's do for another cat scan to comfirm this prior to his next round of kemo.

He's in much better spirits on his non-kemo weeks as this takes the starch out of him.

For more go to his web site.

We can understand, we lost a 4 year old wolfhound to cancer, The breeder knew the dogs in his litter had a rare form of cancer but did not tell the owners. He had chemo, radiation and a leg amputation and still died less than 6 months after the diagnosis. We now have all our critters insured with VPI which picks up some of the cost (of course we are in CA where the costs are triple the rest of the nation ........ and they get to choose the "normal" cost). Hopefully, he will be one of the lucky ones and do well!

Wow! What a great community we have here on the Airforums!

Last night someone from right here contributed enough to cover the next round of kemo for Jack... completely!

You know who you are and I'm blown away by your generosity.

For those who haven't taken a look at the site and the photos of Jack I encourage you to do so. He's a very special K-9 and his owner is just paying him back for all the love he's given over the years.

Thanks again.

I received this email this morning:

Quote:
To All Who Helped:

Jack lost his fight against cancer on Friday, December 12th. He fought hard, but in the end, the disease simply overwhelmed him. Thank you to all of you who participated in his treatment. He will be greatly missed and happily remembered.

My love to you all,
Steve
Jack is at peace now...
