Goodbye Beloved Jewel

It is with tears in my eyes and great sadness in my heart that I say goodbye to my sweet sweet Jewel (I'm crying as I type this). She was the most gentle and loving boxer who endeared everyone she met, greeting them with a big smile and plenty of wet kisses. She loved camping, road trips and the Airstream lifestyle. The GT was a happy place for all of us. I was lucky enough to have her in my life for almost 8 1/2 wonderful years. She saw me through good times and bad, always there to comfort me with unconditional love. Sadly this past weekend she suffered cardiac failure and could not be revived. Just minutes before she was joyfully playing in the yard with Ellie, her best friend, companion and playmate. I hope she knows that I will love her forever! Cherish every day with your pets and never take them for granted. I thank God for my time with her and for Ellie, without whom I would be completely lost.

Oh no.

Todd,

Having met Jewel and a boxer owner myself I know all you are going through. I'm sure your Ellie is licking your tears.

Our thoughts are with you,

Michael and Vicky

Hey Todd,

Sorry about your furry friend. I too have gotten rather attached to our lab who is way too spoiled for her own good. They truly are our Fur kids...

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I grew up with Boxers, they are really special dogs. They are full of joy, I'm sure she enjoyed every minute with you!

I'm sorry for your loss. Jewel isn't gone, she's just gone ahead. She'll be waiting for you at the bridge.

I am very sorry for your loss. It is never easy to loose a beloved member of the family especially so suddenly. I know it is hard but be thankful she was not in pain and she had a chance to play with her friend before going. She will always be with you in mind and spirit. I swear my Ginger still sits on the sofa with us.

So sorry for your loss. My very best friend had Duke and Darla, two of the sweetest boxers I had ever known. They were put to sleep while in his arms. I know the loss you are feeling.

Our loved Wally, the Weimaraner, friend for fourteen years, passed December a year ago and is still acutely loved and missed in our family as your Jewel will be for yours. Your love and anguish is understood by many on this forum, and we hope you feel our caring and support now. ~G

Toddster, Sorry to hear of your loss, friend. I really know how you feel right now. I also lost a long-time friend a couple of months ago, Gracie was with us for ten years and we took her with us on trips to Oregon and the Tahoe National Forest many times. She was a royal pain in the a$$ a lot, but I can't even tell you how much I miss her greeting me each night. I see her out of the corner of my eye when I'm working around the yard all the time. It was disturbing at first, but now it's reassuring to see her and remember her again.
My heart goes out to you.

Treat me kindly, my beloved master for no heart in the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.
Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I lick your hand between the blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me do.
Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music, as you know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footstep falls upon my waiting ear.
When it is cold and wet, please take me inside, for I am now a domesticated animal, no longer used to bitter elements. And I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth. Though had you no home, I would rather follow you through ice and snow than rest upon the softest pillow in the warmest home in all the land, for you are my god, and I am your devoted worshiper.
Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for although I should not reproach you were it dry, I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst.
Feed me clean food, that I may be well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life should your life be in danger.
And, beloved master, should the Great Master see fit to deprive me of my health or sight, do not turn me from you. Rather hold me gently in your arms as skilled hands grant me the merciful boon of eternal rest… and I will leave you knowing with the last breath I drew, my fate was ever safest in your hands.

We are so sorry for the loss of your boxer. We have had many boxers and each one has been special. Take comfort in knowing that they aren't gone, just moved ahead a bit.

So very, very sorry,

Kathy and Hank

I am sorry to read about Jewel's passing - and knowing how you were feeling as you posted. I've been there before and will be there again. Too soon. What lovely (and loving) creatures. I'm always glad to see that others cherish their companionship as I... May you always remember her with the fondest and happiest of memories and may the memories make you smile.
