Toddster, Sorry to hear of your loss, friend. I really know how you feel right now. I also lost a long-time friend a couple of months ago, Gracie was with us for ten years and we took her with us on trips to Oregon and the Tahoe National Forest many times. She was a royal pain in the a$$ a lot, but I can't even tell you how much I miss her greeting me each night. I see her out of the corner of my eye when I'm working around the yard all the time. It was disturbing at first, but now it's reassuring to see her and remember her again.
My heart goes out to you.

Treat me kindly, my beloved master for no heart in the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.
Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I lick your hand between the blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me do.
Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music, as you know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footstep falls upon my waiting ear.
When it is cold and wet, please take me inside, for I am now a domesticated animal, no longer used to bitter elements. And I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth. Though had you no home, I would rather follow you through ice and snow than rest upon the softest pillow in the warmest home in all the land, for you are my god, and I am your devoted worshiper.
Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for although I should not reproach you were it dry, I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst.
Feed me clean food, that I may be well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life should your life be in danger.
And, beloved master, should the Great Master see fit to deprive me of my health or sight, do not turn me from you. Rather hold me gently in your arms as skilled hands grant me the merciful boon of eternal rest… and I will leave you knowing with the last breath I drew, my fate was ever safest in your hands.

We are so sorry for the loss of your boxer. We have had many boxers and each one has been special. Take comfort in knowing that they aren't gone, just moved ahead a bit.

So very, very sorry,

Kathy and Hank

I am sorry to read about Jewel's passing - and knowing how you were feeling as you posted. I've been there before and will be there again. Too soon. What lovely (and loving) creatures. I'm always glad to see that others cherish their companionship as I... May you always remember her with the fondest and happiest of memories and may the memories make you smile.

A prayer goes out for you and Jewel this morning as I read your post. It hurts very bad to lost our furry children. I wish I could lessen your pain.

An Eskimo Legand: perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings, where our loved ones can gaze down upon us...

Sorry to hear about Jewel. I understand how difficult it is...

I am sorry your loss of Jewel. I know that she willbe missed, but also know that she is well and whole at the Rainbow Bridge. One day you will reunite with your beloved friend. Until then, know that she is always with you-just listen with your heart

Thank you to everyone for your kind words of support, thoughts & prayers. This week has been one of the more difficult of my life. I think only time will heal the pain. Also, thank you to those who shared stories of loved ones you lost; the unconditional love and profound impact they have on our lives are truly blessings.

They stay in our hearts forever...

"Not the least hard thing to bear when
they go from us, these quiet friends,
is that they carry away with them so
many years of our lives. Yet, if they
find warmth therein, who would
begrudge them those years that they
have so guarded?
And whatever they take,
be sure they have deserved."
