Great news Steph! But you know that when she gets to stop taking all those pills, the treats will have to continue! They just don't understand when the treats stop!
I found a good treat made by Nuture. It is all natural, comes in a small can in several different flavors like carrot cake and pumkpin spice. Even the cats loved it!
Glad to hear Alki is doing well. Enjoy the beach!

How is the little puppy? It's been a while since her treatments and just wondering if that is all in the past now (and hoping). She might enjoy leisurely cruises in the boat......

Oh I've been very bad about updating folks, haven't I? Well, that's good news, because Alki has been doing really good! No news is good news! She has had a bit of trouble with constipation and recurring bladder infections, but right now everything seems to be working, and she is happy and playful and in great spirits.
In fact just this morning she made us laugh. We were eating breakfast, and can see the water bowl from where we were sitting. We noticed Chester was drinking, and the cat was in line waiting behind him. I don't know why our animals don't mind standing in line for water, but that's how they do it. Then he finished and the cat took a drink, and Alki got in line behind her. Pretty soon Alki was muttering to herself and peering around to see what the cat was doing up there. What's taking so long? The cat was done drinking and was busy dabbling her paw in the water and watching the patterns. Well, that was just too much. Alki started barking at her! The cat ignored her for a minute, then finally walked away (trying to make it clear the barking wasn't what made her move). Alki grumbled and gave her a dirty look, then went and got her drink. I wished I could have got it on video!
It's amazing to think early this summer we thought she only had months to live. It's such a joy to have her with us and happy and healthy for another holiday season. I cannot even tell you how great it has been to get well wishes from all the pet lovers here on the forum during this incredibly trying ordeal.
Thanks for the update. We were wondering but "afraid" to ask just in case, but given the way she plowed through the treatments she's definitely a fighter. A big part of that too is knowing she has such a loving home to spend her days in and get the kind of attention she deserves.
The story about the water line up is hilarious. They sure do make one's heart feel warm.
Merry Christmas,
Barry
