Mouse, rat, mole traps in Washington State are illegal to use. Any store selling them can be fined $2500.00 for each trap sale. It is a stupid law. I use the sticky paper and one bite for mouse control.

Several years ago I had a motorhome. My 2 dogs Sara and Shelby rode in the front between the seats. Sara is a white Boxer and Shelby is 1/2 Chow/Golden mix. Now with the trailer they get on the sofa and look out the window and want it to go. Anytime I work on the trailer they get nervous. Soon we will go again.

An acceptable way to handle the cars is a live trap. I have used a live trap for fox, opossum and raccoons. When a cat is in the trap simply relocate it to a nice farm, miles away from your home, where it can chase mice and climb to its hearts content.

The State law was for all body binding traps such as bear, beaver traps. The other rodent traps fell under the same law. They forgot to exclude them. They said Fish and Wildlife would not arrest a person for using them. I thought I would collect all the alive mice on my property, then call Fish and Wildlife to have them relocated.

Please, speaking as a landowner, who has been the recipient of dozens of stray cats and dogs via the "relocate it to a nice farm, miles away from your home"; ask the property owner first if he/she wants your stray. It is far more humane to turn such animals over to the SPCA or local animal shelter. I have had to use live traps and call the local animal control warden more times than I care to remember to have these "dumped" strays taken to the shelter. For the safety of all animals on our farm, all domestic animals (cats and dogs) are routinely vet checked and vaccinated so I cannot and do not welcome "dumped" animals nor do the vast majority of my neighbors.

Guess what they do with strays you take to the shelter? Around here the animal shelter
tries to adopt the animal out but after 72 hours they kill them and sell them to a local rendering plant. The rendering plant makes them into dog and cat food that you can buy at the human food store. To find out more go read at www.api4animals.org What is really in pet foods.

Hippo, Body bearing as in....

SNARES! Big difference. Killer traps were the trap of preference when I was trapping fur for income as a youth. Typical laws written by fools that know nothing.

Mothballs will do the trick - shot from a paintball gun. Be careful not to aim directly at the trailer.

Captain Zap

The red pepper cayene<sp sprinkeled around is a good deturant for all noses.

Electricity could be used for much more action.
A Model 'T' coil could be hooked up...they don't need a rotor or points. (kinda)
Would not cause purr-menant damage, but would be etched in memory.

Hello, I can emphsize with your situation. I see others have suggested humane live traps and that's what I use, I bait them with tuna fish, cats can't resist! I have caught some oposums, unintentially, I certainly don't eat the things, but I let the 'possums go. Anyways, I find the cats another home home, I learned tis from watching "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom" as a kid. I relocate the cats to the local shelter, which at least in this area are no kill facilities. I personally don't really care where they go after taking them to the shelter, I know my problem is solved and it helps the neighborhood.
